A species rarely seen in the trade, originating from the Eastern coast of southern African countries and Mascarene islands. Reef Safe and peaceful, it's a rather small (10-14cm adult size) and mild mannered fish. Females are have redder vermiculate pattern, while when growing, they change as male with greener shades.
Like all Macropharyngodon, they need a thin sand layer in the tank, to bury at night.
Can be added solitary, or as pair or trio, small group even.
