GUARANTEE

At MARINE LIFE, packages and their contents do not transit at the recipient's risk!

The guarantee is limited to the repair, pure and simple replacement of the defective item, or a credit to your Marine Life account without any compensation being due, including for damage resulting from failure or mortality.

LIVE ANIMALS

Guarantee during transport and for 48 hours after delivery

At MARINE LIFE, we make every effort to ensure that live animal shipments go as smoothly as possible using professional packaging (see more details on packaging) and an authorised carrier (see more details on delivery).

If, despite these precautions, our attentive care, and our expertise, the animal dies during transport or within 48 hours of delivery, we will fully refund the price of the animal once you have sent us an email including your contact information and a photo of the dead animal to this address: support@marinelife.com.

We will then credit your MARINE LIFE account with the price of the dead animal. If you do not follow the procedure described, we will not accept liability and will not take your claim into consideration.

Before reporting the death of the animal, please follow the entire acclimation procedure (our recommendations and acclimation).

OTHER PROVISIONS

Transit guarantee

Delivery is fully covered if you follow the procedure below.

In case of dispute (theft, breakage of aquarium glass, or damage to equipment), you must issue clear reservations on the delivery note in the presence of the carrier, stating the name of the item in dispute and the quantity and possibly take photos. Within 48 hours of the delivery date, complete the claims form in contact to receive a reimbursement of the items.

Once the form completed, please return it, along with any damaged items, by registered post with advice of receipt or registered package (sending date as per postmark), to this address:

We will credit your MARINE LIFE account with the value of the claim. If you do not follow the procedure described, we will not accept liability and will not take your claim into consideration.

Any item that is not received or received damaged or missing and not reported on the delivery slip and inspected in front of the deliveryman cannot be the subject of a claim and a refund.

The carrier cannot be held liable for reservations, such as conditional handover, subject to unpacking, or package broken; therefore, they will not be taken into considered.

Failure covered during the two-year manufacturer guarantee period:

The items you buy at Marine Life are covered by manufacturer guarantee offered by all manufacturers.

The manufacturer guarantee is only applicable under normal conditions of use.

Our suppliers have a very wide selection of spare parts. Therefore, we will do our best to resolve the failure quickly.

The following are not covered by the manufacturer guarantee:

  • Normal wear parts such as pump rotors, ampoules and tubes of all types, seals, etc.
  • Damage resulting from inappropriate use (moisture in electrical or electronic items, submersible devices operating dry, etc.).
  • All products modified or repaired by the Purchaser or any other person not expressly authorised by Marine Life.
  • Unfinished electrical items (sockets, ballast, etc.).
  • Consumables, such as live animals, marine algae, live rocks, natural seawater, feed, and perishable products.

If an item purchased from Marine Life fails, complete the claims form in contact.

We will either send it to the manufacturer for repair or replacement with a new item and we will send it to you free of charge. We will try to resolve the issue as quickly as possible but we are dependent on the manufacturers. In the event that your item cannot be repaired and the replacement item is not in stock, we will credit your Marine Life account with the purchase value of the item. If you do not follow the procedure described, we will not accept liability and will not take your claim into consideration.

Any product that has been damaged or the original packaging of which has been damaged will not be refunded, taken back, or exchanged.

Failure after the end of the manufacturer guarantee period:

If an item purchased from Marine Life fails, complete the claims form in contact.

Once you have completed the form, please send it, along with the defective item, by registered package, to this address at your cost:

We will send it to the manufacturer for appraisal. If the item can be repaired, we will send you our best quote.

Otherwise, your item will be destroyed unless you have asked for it to be returned to you at your cost plus a 25-euro management fee.

AVAILABILITY GUARANTEE

If the item ordered is out of stock, our Orders Department will contact you to offer equivalent replacement items.

If need be, we will credit your Marine Life account with the amount paid for undelivered items. No remainder of the order will be taken into account.

If, despite our efforts, the order shipped is less than half the value (euros) of your initial order, we will credit the amount of shipping costs to your Marine Life account.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

In accordance with French law in force, you have a period of seven days (as per postmark) to return an item you purchased from Marine Life.

In case of withdrawal, complete the form in contact.

Once you have completed the form, please send it, along with the new unused item in its original packaging, by registered package (sending date as per postmark) to this address:

We will credit your Marine Life account with the item's purchase price. If you do not follow the procedure described, we will not accept liability and will not take your claim into consideration.

For obvious reasons, live animals, live rocks, seaweeds, live sand, natural seawater, live food, frozen feed, and books may not be returned.

Any product that has been damaged or the original packaging of which has been damaged will not be refunded, taken back, or exchanged.

REFUND

All reimbursements will be credited to your Marine Life account. If you wish to close your Marine Life account, click here.

GENERAL EXCLUSION FROM GUARANTEES

No claim may be submitted, and no reimbursement will be made:

  • If you refuse a delivery regardless of the reason or the carrier's delay in delivering.
  • For live animals, seaweed, live rocks, live sand, natural seawater, and live and frozen feed, if you are not at home when the delivery arrives or if you have provided us with an incorrect delivery address or postcode.
  • If you do not use the claims form in contact following the procedures described above.
