It is a fish that we do not often see in its natural environment, because it lives in the great depths of the reef (between 70 and more than 250m underground), which is more sheltered from the caves. Living in a small haremic group, it is very fierce. It is then easy to understand why we are there in the presence of a real rarity on aquariophile trade, despite a very wide geographical distribution. Take care of acclimatization in a calm environment, with dim light. Pseudanthias borbonius will however easily get used to the aquarium, it is a robust fish, not difficult to maintain, as long as it feels sufficiently confident to get out to eat (avoid cohabitation with fish too dynamic and/or aggressive to begin with).
